Most things in life take some kind of risk and having worked with clients for over 25 years, I’d say that 85% of the time, rather than take a risk adults allow fear and doubt to get in the way.
I know that the last year has created more fear in people than anyone would like however, we still have a choice. I’m 79 and I have secondary conditions that I could allow to make me so afraid that I would just never go out. I chose not to allow fear to get in my way.
Children will explore and take risks usually much faster than adults because they may not as yet have been programed to be afraid.
Unless there is something to really be afraid of, fear as I’m sure you’ve heard me say before, is just a thought in your head. It may feel real but it isn’t! It’s your subconscious mind playing tricks to stop you from moving forward so you can achieve what you want.
Next time you want to achieve something new, go somewhere different or do something outside of your comfort zone, remember that you have the power not to allow your thinking to take you hostage. Ask yourself a question. “Will I be glad that I chose to do this or will I regret not doing it.” You have a choice about how you think.
