Remember how I’ve always said that our minds are our greatest asset but can also be our biggest problem.
We have approx. 60,000 thoughts a day, many of which are negative. Often it’s because someone said something many years ago that made you doubt yourself and that’s something you want to let go of.
This week I’m going to share some things with you that can relax your mind, which in turn will help you to think more positively and to let go of self-doubt.
Re-Charge
WOW, imagine, 60,000 thoughts a day swirling round and round. This means the same thoughts get repeated over and over again. Often causing stress and anxiety. Your brain needs time to recharge, it needs to reset. Part of that happens when you sleep, but so many people don’t sleep well so it’s not enough. Unless you’re a doctor or someone who has to constantly be on call, set an intention, if not for a whole day, at least for 3-4 hours once a week. Give yourself a gift.
Turn off your phone, the television and the computer and go out and do something you love to do. It might be a game of tennis or lunch with a friend or perhaps a hike. If you have your phone with you, turn it off so you are not constantly bombarded with messages. Trust me, it won’t hurt anyone if you wait to return an email or phone call. You might also want to download http://www.JustGetFlux.com on your phone and computer so it’s easier on your eyes. (it’s free)
Free your mind from everything you’ve been keeping up there. You can use an app, a pad of paper or an online tool to do it. Just write it all out, let it pour freely. You don’t need to read it back. You don’t even need to keep it, if you write it out on paper you may get great joy from ripping it up and throwing it in the trash.
Breathe
Yes, of course we all breathe. However if you’re honest how often do you take time to stop and breathe really deeply. Inhale deeply, draw a deep breath from your diaphragm and pause before you slowly exhale. Repeat this process 3 times and use it more than once during the day. I use this technique at least 2-3 a day. It’s a simple exercise but effective for clearing your mind and boosting your mood.
It lowers your blood pressure and heart rate and, because it stimulates the nervous system it provides your body with immediate relaxation. It’s a stress reliever and more importantly, it can help you clear your mind and boost your concentration.
Sleep
Speaking of sleep, there’s a good chance that you aren’t getting enough. Adults need at least seven hours of sound sleep. How much do you get? A good night’s sleep can do wonders for your brain and a healthy routine before bed can help you make sure you get it.
Consider keeping all electronics out of the bedroom or at least turn screens off an hour before bed. Everything you do in the run-up to bedtime should be about unwinding and getting your body ready for sleep.
I’m going to stop here otherwise it will be very long however I will continue writing about the mind next week. In the meantime try using some of what I’ve talked about and you will find it quietens your mind which will give you more peace and better sleep.
When your mind is relaxed it’s much easier to think positively so that you attract all the love, happiness and joy you want into your life. Never allow that inner gremlin to sabotage your dreams and desires.
Perhaps pay more attention daily to your thinking so that positive thinking and belief in yourself in every way becomes the norm for you, then watch how you attract all the good things in life that you want.
‘Til Next Time
Have a fun and relaxing week
As always live with abundance
