It took me a while to recognize that in order to have what I wanted in life, I had to learn the importance of having certain habits. The four I’m going to share over the next few weeks became the cornerstones for my growth and gave me the ability to teach these benefits to others.
There are some people who think that if you are highly trained in some area that’s what makes you an expert. However, I will say that even if you have training up the ying yang, if you haven’t grown within yourself and haven’t experienced what you want to teach, you are not only doing your clients a dis-service, you are doing a huge dis-service to yourself. Although training is extremely important because there are tools and techniques you can’t learn from life, there’s also no training greater than having life experience.
#1 – Persistence.
The dictionary definition for persistence is, “to continue steadfastly in spite of opposition.” This is something I discovered along my journey. Without this nothing much can be achieved.
Whatever challenges occurred I always got back up and kept moving forward. Over the years I’ve been able to pass these lessons on to my clients. In my opinion, giving up is not an option! When you stay focused and believe in yourself, it’s amazing what you can achieve.
Without persisting and plowing ahead in spite of the stuff that life sometimes throws at you, you might not reach goals that you set for yourself. It’s really important to recognize that you have strengths and they are there for you to tap into anytime you need them.
It’s not just the end result that counts, it’s the journey to getting where you want to go that’s more important than anything else. It can be a very exciting journey so, enjoy the ride, have fun and keep moving forward.
‘Til Next Time
Enjoy your week
