I'm going to start writing a series of emails that will range from the one today, through understanding your demons, to money messages, procrastination, the power of writing and so much more. If you are interested in hearing more that can help you to grow both personally and professionally check back regularly. I will probably post them every couple of days.
Maybe you’re thinking “what does Stepping Into My Own Greatness even mean?” First of all it’s whatever it means to you.
For me that would mean I live life as brilliantly, joyfully and successfully as I deserve. That’s what I would like to see for everyone else too.
Whether it’s wealth, happiness, weight loss or living the lifestyle of your dreams, nothing is simply acquired.
You might not be aware of it but it’s usually a decision you make on an inner level. It really has very little to do with anything that might happen in your outer world.
Everything as I’m sure you know is about energy. In order to connect with the Universe and the energy around you, being authentic and successful is about creating a whole! It incorporates everything spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and intellectually. This is how you will bring the joy, greatness and success you want into your life.
First of course, you have to determine where you are at present and you have to be very clear about where you want to go and the outcome you want to achieve.
I’m often amazed when I ask a client where they want to go and they answer, “I don’t know.” If you don’t know, how will you get there? That’s a bit like being told to drive somewhere you’ve never been before but you’re not given directions on how to get to your destination.
One of my first mentors was Thomas Leonard, the grand-daddy of coaching. He always said, if you want answers ask questions and then ask why. So….
Where do you want to go and why? What will the end result mean to you? Don’t make the answer just about money. What will having money mean to you? What will it allow you to do? Sit somewhere peaceful, close your eyes and the answers will come.
When you know the answers, you then have a way to start planting and planning.
I think that life is much like a garden! You plant the seeds, you water them and if they are nurtured daily, over time the seeds turn into things of beauty.
If you look at your life at present from this point of view, how does it look? Is your garden slightly brown and dry and needing water and care or is it bright and beautiful like the photo?
Are you willing to tweak your mindset if necessary?
To make your life bright and beautiful takes work and change. It’s not difficult, in fact it’s quite easy but it can take time. Everyone does things in their own time, it’s not a race to beat someone else so it means you have to be patient with yourself and it means being willing to take one step at a time. If you are taking action, however long it may take, you will arrive at the destination you desire.
This also means, if you are working with a coach, mentor or even a friend, they need to be patient with you too. One of the things my clients say to me is, “thank you for your patience, you never make me feel pressured or judged.”
We never stop learning and although I’m 76, I still listen to webinars, attend events plus I’m very fortunate to have a coach who I trust completely and she keeps me on track. I’ve worked with her on and off for many years and I’m sure there are times she would like to scream when I don’t get things done that she has requested but she never does, consequently I never feel judged and because I trust her, it allows me to hire her again when needs be.
This is a very important aspect when hiring a coach/mentor. If you are expected to do things in their time frame it will make you feel very uncomfortable and ultimately you will stop working with that person so always have a phone interview first and ask any questions you think need to be answered so you make an informed decision. Over the years, there have been times that I’ve acted in haste and hired someone who was the wrong fit for me. I tell you this because it’s something you don’t want to do.
